A decorative gold and enamel verge pocket watch with matching chatelaine with signet and key in original box Case: 18k rose gold, the back side decorated with goldpaillon stars on a translucentcobalt blue, engine-turned ground, the bezels with white enamel borders with gold flowers on a blue ground. Dial: enamel, radial Arabic numerals, signed, Louis XVI hands. Movm.: full plate movement, keywind, signed, gilt, chain/fusee, solid movement pillars, three-arm brass balance, fine florally engraved and pierced balance bridge. This timekeeper was created by Charles Le Compte, who had his business at Quai des Ormes in Paris from 1789 until 1820; he had been a maître-horloger since 1785.
