If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck. This cute brooch was made by French jewellery house Mellerio (since 1613 and still active today). Mellerio is well known for the trophy given to winners of the French Open, and in the 19th century they made some serious tiaras - for Queen Isabella, Queen Sofia, and for the Dutch Queen Emma. She had a ruby tiara made by Mellerio in 1889, which can nowadays be seen worn by Queen Maxima. Our duck brooch is 18K gold and black, brown and white enameled.
