This beautiful pendant is a legend-inspired piece in sterling silver, from the AustroHungarian period circa 1867-1918. It´s a three-dimensional pendant with intricate detail, decorated with colorful enamel. A symbol of bravery, honour, and chivalry - Saint George is a saint in Christianity and Islam. Since the 11th century, myths and legends surround him, the most famous one is ‘Saint George and the Dragon’ (long story short: a fierce dragon threatens a village, they feed him sheep and young women, until George comes along to slay the dragon and convert the village).
