An 18k gold Art Nouveau French brooch and medallion with brown enamel and flowers (honeysuckle) in purple, blue, green and yellow enamel. Deisgned by etcher Felix Bracquemond (1833-1914), executed by goldsmith Alexandre Riquet. Signed: B (for Bracquemond), AR (for Alexandre Riquet, goldsmith), dated 1903, with the cachet and monogram JV (for Joseph Vitta), who assigned it. From the collection of baron Joseph Vitta.
Baron Joseph Vitta (1860-1942) was an exceptional personality who marked his time by putting his fortune and his energy at the service of art. He was an important collector and patron at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth century.
