France, circa 1960
Founded in Paris in 1954 by Georges Richard and Roland Bouder, Georland evolved from a fine jewelry workshop into a renowned manufacturer for prestigious jewelry houses on Place Vendôme, with international expansion to New York and later throughout Europe in the 1960s and 1970s. Under the leadership of Henry Marteau and subsequently his sons, the company expanded its operations into the Middle and Far East, creating exceptional jewelry and luxury objects for an exclusive clientele. Modernization and new purchasing strategies in the 1990s ensured strong growth. With the entry of the third generation, active in Paris and New York, Georland emerged from the shadow of anonymous production in 2011 to present collections under its own name, building on a rich tradition that includes prominent clients such as Princess Diana.
