Description

A palmwood toilet box with automata, musical movement and a clockwork mechanism; a so-called "Kuhschwanzpendel" (cow's tail pendulum). Signed: Marc Le Jeune & J.H Junghans. The scene depicts a musical ensemble in a tavern in the Black Forest, the painting executed on an ivory plaque with a fire-gilded copper border.
