Description

Art Deco brooch with a beautiful hand-carved in pink coral image of a woman (possibly Flora, goddess of flowers, awakening after winter, joy, and agricultural abundance) with two cherubs in a garden scene. The mounting is 14-karat white gold. The sculpted image, which can also be interpreted as representing motherly love, is three-dimensional, and the floral arrangement is partially openwork. Possibly Austrian.
