An Art Nouveau silver paper knife, decorated with thistle and leaf motifs and signed Antoine Bricteux.

Antoine Bricteux was a jeweller who registered his company Antoine Bricteux Fils Bijoutier in 1866. He produced Art Nouveau jewellery, and the factory really started to flourish from 1866 onwards. Antoine produced for and with designer G. Landois, who in turn collaborated with Louis Aucoc. Antoine created jewellery in the style of Lalique, as he had been instructed by Aucoc and Landois.
